Low Voltage Cabling Construction Documents and Request for Proposal for Radiation Oncology

Project Completed October 2009

The scope of the project was to provide cost-effective design documentation for the Vernon Cancer Center Radiation Oncology Building Lower Level at NWH, who worked in collaboration with Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Radiation Oncology.

Delivered programming details for low voltage outlet requirements at user group meetings. Created a detailed set of LV-Series drawings from the provided E-Series drawings for the basement and first floor. Produced detailed room layouts on part plan drawings: included cabinet (or rack) locations, low voltage cabling pathway design, and electrical outlet locations.

Facilitated decision-making driven meetings with NWH Information Technology team: reviewed and revised drawings and specifications until accepted. Provided coordination with the architect and MEP engineers for the HVAC requirements, the locations of telecommunications outlets, cabling pathways, and the location details for all Telecom Rooms. Effectively organized and attended Construction Administration visits.

Developed a coordination set of drawings to include detailed documentation for locations of each device and the supporting systems and coordination details required of the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Engineers for Environmental requirements including HVAC, Electrical and Piping. [/learn_more] Issued RFP including T-Series drawings and the low voltage cabling specification to the GC for bid to qualified contractors.
