Worcester Medical Center, Worcester, Massachusetts

Medical Systems Low Voltage Cabling

Project Completed December 1999

The scope of the project was to document all existing Medical System equipment in service at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts to be moved to the new hospital at the time of opening.

Precise documentation of these systems allowed the design to incorporate newer technologies and advancements in Medical Systems and to converge all cabling systems onto one structured cabling platform as a goal.

Researched the capabilities of each system to be relocated and each new system to be added.

Provided a standard structured cabling platform for all systems to prevent proprietary cabling installed in the new hospital.

Initiated and completed multiple user group meetings with the St. Vincent’s and Fallon Clinic Information Technology personnel in order to program spaces to accommodate the systems and end user devices.

Provided detailed documentation for locations of each device and the supporting systems and coordination details required of the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Engineers for Environmental requirements including HVAC, Electrical and Piping.
